Thank you, Mr. Bains, for bringing this private member's bill forward. As you mentioned in your opening remarks and in an answer to one of our colleagues, it's been 30 years in the making. I know that a lot of work is being done already to ensure that we don't duplicate efforts.
As you know, provinces and territories are the ones that predominantly deal with skilled trades certification. From the conversations you've had with workers, employers and training institutions, where are the gaps that require greater federal leadership? What would this bill allow us to accomplish that we aren't accomplishing today? Where are the gaps? What are you hearing from workers in your riding and from stakeholders you have spoken with?
