Clearly, the more asylum seekers there are, the more services will need to be provided. As a result, the capacity—which is already under significant strain—to provide these services eventually becomes insufficient. It's important to understand the impact of how efficiently and quickly the federal government is able to process cases. As a result, the shorter the wait times, the lower the costs for the Government of Quebec, the Government of Ontario, or others. Consequently, there is a federal responsibility here to expedite the process efficiently.
