I'm sure that it also contributes to people's ability to be economically independent. The CMHC, for example, has said that the private market is not affordable in Nunavut. Less than 20% can purchase their home, and the poverty rate in Nunavut is quite high. It was at 44.5% in 2022, compared to 9.9% in the provinces.
Keeping that in mind, what kinds of programs would you recommend need to be done to improve housing in Nunavut?
