Unfortunately, I'm not savvy enough when it comes to the technology side of things. All I can state is that we have seen what the risks are. We have seen that the Chinese Communist Party is willing to participate in cyber-espionage, intellectual property theft and transnational repression, and all of those things are detrimental to the national security of Canada. If the implementation of technology that is being provided by the Chinese government, or by the People's Republic of China, could mean access to more of this information within Canada, then that is definitely a threat that needs to be dealt with.
