Welcome to meeting number 22 of the Subcommittee on International Human Rights of the House of Commons Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development.
Pursuant to the motion adopted by the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 and the motion adopted by the subcommittee on Monday, May 25, 2026, the subcommittee is meeting for a briefing on human rights in the Caribbean region.
Today's meeting is taking place in a hybrid format, pursuant to the Standing Orders. Members are attending in person in the room and remotely using the Zoom application.
I would like to make a few comments for the benefit of the witnesses and members.

From the United Nations Children's Fund, we have Madame Rebecca Davidson, chief programs officer, and Madame Geeta Narayan, UNICEF representative in Haiti.
