The question I have--and I think I know the answer--for those of us around the table, and there seem to be a few, who have some experience in the criminal justice system, there's no way of accounting statistically for the interplay between a prosecutor and a defence attorney on discretion on the part of the prosecutor to make a recommendation to secure a conviction. Aside from going out and asking every prosecutor and defence attorney on every case, there's no way of compiling statistics as to how much that plays in these stats--or is there?
