No, we don't supervise any conditional sentences in Canada. We have no reason to believe that the costs of supervision are other than those in the briefing papers from the parliamentary library. I would suggest that it's something under $2,000. It's clearly much less costly to supervise in the community than to supervise in prison, as most of your costs in prisons really just have to do with the maintenance of that institution, with typically more than two or three staff for every prisoner. Community supervision is clearly a less expensive alternative.
