Thank you very much, Mr. Chair.
Thank you, all three of you, for being with us.
I want to start by extending my condolences to you and to the families of all who have lost their lives in the conflicts, civilian and military.
The friendship between Canada and Ukraine runs deep. It's Ottawa, it's Ukraine, but it's also international fora, like the Inter-Parliamentary Union that I take part in. We had an excellent discussion in Geneva that was bilateral with the Ukrainian delegation. I just want you to know that the friendship has many facets.
I'd like to start by getting a question on the record that you've already mentioned in opening comments. You have the Donbass on the east side of your country, with the secessionist regime that's backed by Russia. Then you have the Russian army stationed on your western border with Moldova and Transnistria, as you mentioned already. How do you assess the threats to your security, coming from that western direction? How do you co-operate with Moldova to prevent a second front from being opened? I think that's very important for the committee to understand in detail.
