The reason I ask is that there was a fairly recent Arctic exercise. I believe it was Global Resolve. There were 60 soldiers affected, but 30 suffered severe cold injuries. There was no one—no rangers and no American version of the rangers—to guide them when they got off the plane and had to trek through the Arctic for the first time.
