Wind farms are a more recent development in Quebec's history. However, Hydro‑Québec is keenly aware of them. A number of groups have been formed over the past 20 or 25 years. The Quebec government, for example, wanted to promote the construction of wind turbines. It also wanted to support certain regions. Think of the Gaspésie region, which at one point rallied behind the construction of wind turbines.
