Yes, this designated region includes a large part of Greater Sudbury, but it does not include the neighbouring riding of Sault Ste. Marie—Algoma. Towns like Elliot Lake, Blind River, and Sault Ste. Marie, where there is still a significant francophone population, are not covered by the measure. However, if we were to change the unit of measurement to use the dissemination area instead, Sault Ste. Marie—Algoma would be included in the definition of a region with a strong francophone presence.
