I agree with the proposal made by the Fédération des communautés francophones et acadienne du Canada. All provincial and territorial capitals should be included. The organization has also recommended using geographical units of 400 to 700 people and preserving historic francophone communities, such as my village of Chéticamp.
The proportion of the francophone population in a given area varies depending on the size of the territory. The whole of Inverness county has a lower population, but if we take the new electoral district, the proportion of the francophone population comes to 36% of the population, which would be sufficient for the designation of a region with a strong francophone presence.
