What I mean by that is, imagine a situation where an individual doesn't apply for the Canada child benefit and later finds out they should have applied. I'm just giving you an example. I say “retroactive for 10 years” because five years from now if the individual applies and should have applied way back, they are going to get paid retroactively the full amount.
