I don't think we can make sweeping characterizations of what's happening without having the details of exactly what's happening and why. We all want to make sure that our taxpayers' money is spent properly. Should there be a place where the same kind of research is being conducted better or more efficiently and there is no real need for it to be done where it is being done now within government, then I don't see how we can justify to taxpayers that we're maintaining this sort of duplication.
