As intimate partner violence is increasing and as—as I'm hearing from several people—elder abuse is on the rise as well, we're seeing significant growth in the number of people seeking shelter systems. Unfortunately, what I'm hearing is that our shelters specifically for women are full.
Where are these women realistically going to go at night if they're turned away from a shelter system, and what risk does that create for their safety?
