I know you mentioned earlier that jail is not always the answer, but here is the problem. Even if it's a repeat offender and they go to jail.... I recently did an undercover stint with the York Regional Police. Do you know what they told me? These criminals—I'll call them animals—are still running the business from the jail.
How do we ensure that these survivors, who have the will and the courage to come to testify, are protected, if we can't even protect the criminals who are in jail?
