I would add that survivors who have precarious immigration status often struggle accessing mainstream housing and other supports. It's primarily because their precarious status is often tied to a temporary work permit and, because of that, their income and housing can be jeopardized if they, for example, have to go to a shelter or have to call in sick and lose time at work. The fear, really, is that it will jeopardize their immigration status.
