First, I want to let you know that there will be votes today, so that will disrupt our proceedings a bit.
This is meeting number 43 of the Standing Committee on the Status of Women. For the first hour today, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, April 23, 2026, the committee will resume its study on women's shelters and transitional housing.
During the second hour, we were supposed to begin a new study, which will focus on menopause. Before I came into the room, I spoke to my colleagues—who will let me know publicly if they still agree—and I received their consent to proceed with the study on shelters during the first hour and to postpone the study on the impact of menopause on the labour market. The goal is to ensure we do not run out of time for this meeting. We don't want to gloss over it, since it's quite important. We will resume it by the end of the session or, at the latest, in the fall.
Is it still the will of the committee to move forward with this plan?
