I'd like to quickly follow up on that.
Recently, the Fédération des maisons d'hébergement pour femmes estimated the funding needed for 89 additional emergency shelter spaces at $5,679,582. That works out to about $63,816 per bed per year, $5,318 per bed per month or $175 per bed per day. We may not be able to quantify the savings that could be achieved through prevention, but we have an idea of the federation's budget requests.
Lastly, wouldn't it cost the government less to work upstream?
