Madam Speaker, one of the examples the member gave was that of Madam Marie Deschamps' appointment. He concluded that her credentials spoke for themselves and justified her appointment, but he went on to make a case that the fact she is married to someone who is involved in politics should somehow taint her appointment to the judiciary.
Does the member not believe that even women who are married to politicians should have an opportunity to pursue their goals to the fullest without being somehow tainted by association?
