Mr. Speaker, I rise to ask for unanimous consent for the following motion: that Canada's specific claims policy indicates that the government will buy property from willing sellers to return land to first nations that was not properly surrendered; therefore, if a first nation desires that option, as is the case with the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte and the Culbertson tract, surrender of the disputed lands cannot be the only option the government will offer to settle the land claim.
