Mr. Speaker, I rise on a point of order. We have been here voting for over one day, and the reason members of the opposition voted the way we did is that we feel Canadians deserve to know the full story around the SNC-Lavalin scandal and exactly what is at the bottom of it, with two former cabinet ministers calling attention to more of the story that needs to come to light.
I need to explain why we broke from tradition in the last vote. It is because we need to make sure the RCMP has the resources it needs to ensure that the investigation required into this matter is well funded and complete so that Canadians will know justice has been done.

The Deputy Speaker Bruce Stanton
I am wondering whether that was a point of order, but I accept that.
Kevin Lamoureux Liberal Winnipeg North, MB
Mr. Speaker, I rise on a different point or order, one that does not make reference to the $500 million that the Harper government cut from the RCMP.
On a very serious note, I would ask the Speaker to look into a matter regarding a concern that was brought to my attention. The member for Calgary Signal Hill may have come into the chamber with alcohol. The alcohol would have been placed on the chair beside the member for Renfrew—Nipissing—Pembroke. There is concern with respect to that, and we ask the Speaker to address it, possibly through a page. The member opposite might be able to provide his thoughts regarding what might have been brought into the chamber. This is just for confirmation purposes.

The Deputy Speaker Bruce Stanton
Order, please.
As all members know, the only refreshment allowed in the chamber is water. This has come up on other occasions. I thank the hon. parliamentary secretary for his interventions. I would again ask that all members please refrain from bringing in anything but what is allowed in the chamber.
Interim EstimatesGovernment Orders
The Deputy Speaker Bruce Stanton
Order.
We have been here a long time. I have made comments on the matter that was just brought up, and I expect that this will close the matter. I will reiterate that members are not to bring anything else into the chamber except what is allowed in here, which is water in a clear glass.
