Daniel Blaikie NDP Elmwood—Transcona, MB
Madam Speaker, I recall that we are here, in part, because the government does not want to let former ministers say their piece with respect to the SNC-Lavalin affair. I will propose a motion for unanimous consent in a moment, but I want to say that in the Maclean's interview published today, the former president of the Treasury Board said that she was not sure where she would get the opportunity to tell her story.
Therefore, I want to see whether we will find unanimous consent for the following proposition, which is that no later than April 5, a committee of the whole convene to hear testimony from the member for Vancouver Granville and the member for Markham—Stouffville so they can provide their full side of the story, and that the House call on the Prime Minister to waive cabinet confidence in order for them to give the full story, which clearly has not been given, as we read in the interview in today's Maclean's magazine.
