Mr. Speaker, I can confirm for the member opposite that there was no sharing of any Reese's Pieces. Whatever he saw, he is mistaken. Perhaps he would like to apologize.

Interim EstimatesGovernment Orders

March 21st, 11:45 a.m.

The Deputy Speaker Bruce Stanton

I do not think we want to get into a Reese's Pieces controversy.

I would remind all hon. members that we realize, of course, that the hour is getting long, and I encourage members to use their time and respective lobbies to partake of whatever nutritional needs they have, but please refrain from eating while in the chamber. Certainly the pages will help members out with water at their desks, but that is the only thing that is allowed in the chamber.

John Barlow Conservative Foothills, AB

Mr. Speaker, I rise on a point of order. This has been a long process, but in light of the evidence that came to light this morning when the former Treasury Board president said that there is much more to this story that needs to be told, obviously it is quite clear that this is an issue that should be taken a look at in a much more serious light at the justice committee.

I would like to look for unanimous consent for the following motion that the House call on the Prime Minister to waive full solicitor-client privilege on all cabinet confidences to allow the member for Vancouver Granville to address events that occurred following January 14, 2019, including her time as the Minister of Veterans Affairs, her resignation from that position and her presentation to cabinet that followed.
