Madam Speaker, I thank my colleague for his speech, which was well-thought-out, as usual.
We agree on the need for an independent and transparent public inquiry into foreign interference. The NDP is concerned that the focus here is on just one state, namely the Chinese government. Yes, there are very serious allegations involving China, but focusing solely on China stigmatizes Quebeckers and Canadians who are Chinese nationals. We hear that a lot from people on the ground.
Does my colleague agree that the mandate should be expanded to include all foreign interference, including that of Iran or Russia, for example?
