Mr. Speaker, today I rise to celebrate Leo Plue, Whitby's 2025 Peter Perry Award recipient. This is the highest distinction in our town, recognizing true dedication to community building.
For over 40 years, Leo has created opportunities in the classroom, inspiring thousands of students and driving change in Ontario's high schools through e-learning, but his vision reaches far beyond the classroom. Leo brought the Abilities Centre, a national beacon for inclusive spaces, to life, and helped secure Whitby's critical care hospital. Once complete, it will provide essential health care for families across Durham Region. He also supports children with complex needs as the chair of Grandview Kids and as a board member of Sloaneās House.
Leo shows that leadership is not about titles; it is about changing lives. I congratulate Leo. He makes us all proud and he makes Canada stronger.
