Mr. Speaker, I like to think that every member of the House can understand and appreciate the impact that the Internet has on all people. This legislation is, I would suggest, somewhat historic in the sense that we are addressing a problem that everyone is concerned about. How we pass this legislation through would provide the assurances that it would not be taking away the rights of parents. It would complement them in many ways and demonstrate that the government very much wants to play a role in protecting people's interests by looking at platforms and algorithms. That is what we should be doing as government. I am wondering if the member could provide his thoughts on why it is important that the national government play a leadership role in bringing forward legislation of this nature.
