Mr. Speaker, on the occasion of National Forest Week, I want to pay tribute to the thousands of men and women who work every day in our forestry sector. In our regions, the forest is more than just a resource: It is a vital pillar of our history, our economy and our connection to the land. This year, this recognition is all the more important as the industry is going through a particularly difficult period.
Amid uncertainty, production shutdowns and trade tensions with our neighbour to the south, forestry workers continue to show remarkable resilience. I want to tell them that their contribution is essential. It supports our communities, provides for our families, and contributes to Quebec's economy.
To all forestry workers, contractors, producers, and the communities that depend on the forest for their livelihoods, I say thank you for your hard work, your determination and your love for our region.
I wish everyone a good National Forest Week.
