Mr. Speaker, I am pleased to have the opportunity to present petition e-7622 on behalf of concerned members of the Pakistani Canadian community.
Signers of the petition are disturbed by the Liberal government's decision to have the Minister of Foreign Affairs meet with the Pakistani Minister of Interior while visiting Islamabad last summer. This individual has been known to engage in targeted state-sanctioned harassment against families of Canadian citizens and members of the Pakistani diaspora.
Signers of the petition are calling on the government to ensure that future collaborations with the Pakistani Ministry of Interior be conditional on its immediate cessation of harassment against the families of Canadian citizens.
