Madam Speaker, I have two petitions to table today.
The first petition I wish to table is petition e-7649, which has been signed by thousands of people across Canada who are deeply concerned by the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Cuba as a direct result of the United States' unilateral blockade, which is condemned by legal experts as a form of collective punishment.
The petition calls on the government to reaffirm Canada's historical opposition to the American embargo at the United Nations and support the annual resolution to end the embargo. Further, it calls on the government to deepen and defend economic and cultural exchanges between Canada and Cuba and to enforce the Foreign Extraterritorial Measures Act to protect Canadian corporations that do business in Cuba against American sanctions.
