Mr. Speaker, there is a lot to talk about when it comes to affordability measures for Canadians in general.
I want to flag one example, which we may be talking too little about in this House. It is the universal child care program that we put in place just a few years ago. I was in Quebec in the late 1990s and early 2000s when it was implemented. For many decades, provinces and Canadians were looking forward to such a program. Many thought it would never be put in place, but it came to Quebec earlier, and then it finally came to children and families across Canada, with 900,000 children benefiting from the program every day.
