Mr. Speaker, I want to thank the parliamentary secretary to the government House leader for his passion for Canadian farmers and Canadian agriculture, and then I want to add to that.
He has reiterated that our government is clearly willing to bring affordability measures to help Canadians at this crisis time. Twice, we have exempted the fuel tax, with Bill C-30 and Bill C-38. However, let us not forget that some of those fuel taxes actually go back to municipalities to help with critical infrastructure.
We cannot predict what the situation is going to be in the Strait of Hormuz and whether that is going to be resolved soon. It would be irresponsible to extend past the time frame that we can predict, what the revenues would be and what the benefits for Canadians would be. Would the member agree?
