Mr. Speaker, the Conservative members of the committee are going to provide a supplemental opinion to go with that report. As we heard throughout this study, the message that was conveyed to the community is that there has to be reliable access to critical minerals. It is vital to maintaining military readiness and sustaining technological superiority. Witnesses stated over and over again that the dependence on the People's Republic of China has exposed our vulnerabilities and highlighted the importance of having secure and resilient critical mineral supply chains.
We have added a number of recommendations in our supplemental opinion. I encourage everyone to read it so they understand how important critical minerals are to our overall defence procurement and defence capabilities. We must ensure that we have control over critical minerals, including by having resilience in the supply chain and having stockpiles of critical minerals and energy.
