Mr. Speaker, I have a lot to say about that. The first thing I would like to say is we would be an energy superpower. We would have a stockpile. We would be able to control our fuel prices. Farmers would not be facing twice the price in fuel costs from year to year.
The actual building of a pipeline, if the bureaucracy of the Liberal government was not in the way, could be accomplished in a couple of years. The problem is that the Liberals continue to not consult with the provinces and they leave it to the last minute, and the next thing we know, the project is stalled or cancelled.
We cannot build pipelines with government money. It needs to be the private sector building these projects, because they will then get done in a reasonable time.
