Mr. Speaker, clearly we are not knocking on the same doors because, when I meet with constituents, they find the cost of living appalling, and they hate the decisions being made here. Every time the Liberals make announcements and ask people to look at how they are spending money when they launch a program, people understand that the money being spent is money we do not have.
The government is running a deficit year after year. There are no more surpluses. As a result, when the Liberals announce they are sending out cheques or creating programs, they are announcing a debt that will be paid by future generations. That is of concern for parents and families. No, people are not cheering for the government. On the contrary, they are wondering when we are going to make decisions that put citizens at the heart of the equation.
