Mr. Speaker, I listened carefully to my colleague's speech.
I know that he is aware that it costs a lot to raise a family. I agree with him. I have children and grandchildren. It is very challenging. What does my colleague think about our measure to eliminate the GST on the purchase of new homes worth up to $1 million?
I do not understand why the Conservatives voted against the Canada child benefit, which is a big help for families across the country. They also voted against $10-a-day child care. Quebec has had a program like that for over 30 years, and we know that it increases women's labour force participation. The Conservatives also voted against that. There is also the national school food program. The Conservatives voted against that too.
How can our colleague claim to be concerned about affordability?
