Mr. Speaker, I would like to hear my colleague's thoughts on the fact that the government has money for all sorts of things, including a $43-billion oil pipeline, but has decided not to extend the federal incentives for medium- and heavy-duty zero-emission vehicles, a program aimed at electrifying those vehicles.
Since March 31, there has been no more money to help reduce the use of diesel in the vehicles on our roads. Companies like Paccar manufacture electric heavy-duty vehicles right in Quebec, but there is no longer any support for those companies.
How is it that the government has money to invest in a pipeline that will benefit western Canada and the oil companies, but it has no money left to electrify transportation and support Quebec companies?
