For the 10th consecutive year, we are celebrating the contributions of the 1.7 million Spanish-speaking Canadians who enrich and help build our community from coast to coast to coast. In the presence of hundreds of Canadians of Latin American descent who have travelled to Ottawa to join us in Parliament, today is a wonderful opportunity to discover the richness of Latin American and Hispanic cultures and strengthen the bonds that bring us together. Of course, it is also a chance to enjoy incredible music, performances and delicious food.
I would like to thank His Excellency Carlos Arturo Morales López, Ambassador of the Republic of Colombia, and His Excellency Alfredo Martínez Serrano, Ambassador of Spain, for their contributions to this event.
I invite my colleagues and friends to join us in celebrating this day and making the most of this wonderful occasion. I hope everyone enjoys the celebration.
