Mr. Speaker, I rise to present a petition from Canadians who are concerned about the increasing number of fires involving lithium-ion batteries. The petitioners are calling on the Government of Canada to take national action on lithium-ion battery fire risks, including a national incident reporting system, firefighter safety research, strong safety standards and training, and investments in protective equipment and fire suppression technologies. Battery safety is public safety.
