Mr. Speaker, I think we all know that the barriers for health care workers in the system today are considerable. There is a lot that artificial intelligence, for example, can do to improve the productivity of our health systems and reduce administrative burdens on our health care providers, whether they are a home care worker in a home, a PSW in long-term care or a nurse practitioner in primary care. AI can help all those people spend their time taking care of patients instead of running around trying to access information. It can reduce the administrative burden, whether it is from filling out forms or getting appointments for patients. However, all of that requires that the data be accessible, that it be linked and interoperable and that it not be blocked by the vendors of electronic medical records and electronic health records. That is why this bill would make a difference for the workers in our health systems across Canada.
