Madam Speaker, if somebody is getting their arm taken off, they are not going to worry about the pimple on their nose. In health care, having better data sharing is worthwhile. However, what people want is access to services.
Unfortunately, what we have been seeing within the federation for far too long are cuts to health care transfers. This makes it more difficult to access care, and it makes it harder for the provinces to manage other areas under their jurisdiction.
If my colleague wants to see results in health care, he should convince his government to invest as it should and to increase its participation through transfers. That is the best solution.
