Mr. Speaker, this budget is a continuation of the betrayal on climate action.
After rolling out the red carpet for oil and gas companies and pipelines, the government continues to subsidize oil and gas. It is weakening industrial carbon pricing. It is weakening regulations on clean electricity. It is removing the zero-emissions mandate for electric vehicles. It is freezing emissions mandates for light-duty vehicles. There is no money for public transit or for climate adaptation.
Can the government explain to us why it is sacrificing our children's future and the Paris agreement, all for the sake of the oil and gas companies?
