Mr. Speaker, as I have indicated, affordability is something the Prime Minister and this government have taken very seriously from day one. I understand that the Conservatives want to focus on one aspect that deals with affordability.
I will talk about the price of gas at the pump. Prior to the Prime Minister taking office, we were paying a 17¢-a-litre carbon tax. The Prime Minister got rid of that 17¢ a litre and made it permanent. Then we put in a temporary suspension of 10¢ a litre, and that is what Bill C-38 would do.
The Prime Minister understands affordability, and we are moving in the right direction with a holistic approach.
