Madam Speaker, I have known the member for Surrey Newton for many years, and I have always found him to be a very strong and powerful advocate for issues such as tax breaks. This is one of those issues for which we are going to see a 10¢–a–litre drop ongoing until the end of January, and then five cents a litre until the end of March of next year. I know the member has also been a strong advocate for the tax break for all Canadians, some 20 million people.
I wonder if he can provide his thoughts in regard to why it is so important at a time of unaffordability that we be there for Canadians.
