Madam Speaker, I was wondering what to ask my colleague, and she actually answered my question in her speech.
I recalled that before she became such an exceptional member of Parliament, she was an equally exceptional family doctor. She talked about all the programs we have put in place, including the Canada child benefit, the Canada groceries and essentials benefit, the Canadian dental care plan and a program that is particularly important to me, the national school food program. I am sure that when she looked after people in her previous life, they were grateful to receive assistance from various levels of government and from various organizations.
Can she tell us whether the people receiving these supports are actually seeing any improvement in their quality of life?
