Mr. Speaker, I rise today, with the member of Parliament from Port Moody—Coquitlam, to present an e-petition on behalf of over 2,400 Canadians seeking to designate February as Canadian Chinese heritage month. I stand, with national support from coast to coast, with many organizations and cities across the country joining our movement.
The contributions of Chinese Canadians over the past 230 years deserve recognition. Our government's message this year has been about building Canada strong. Chinese Canadians have been doing so since before Confederation.
