Mr. Speaker, on this September 25, the green and white flag flies proudly over Nipissing—Timiskaming, from Earlton to Temiskaming Shores, from North Bay to Astorville. Franco-Ontarian Day invites us to celebrate the contributions of francophones to our province.
Today I would like to acknowledge my parents, who have kept the French language alive in our family. I am thinking of my 96-year old father, who is still with us and who taught me to love our language and our roots. Today, their grandchildren and great-grandchildren carry that heritage with pride.
I wish my father, my family and all my constituents a happy Franco-Ontarian Day.
