Mr. Speaker, on the contrary, we have a very good plan.
I am told there are four options. An ion exchange treatment device, a reverse osmosis treatment device, bottled water delivery and the payment of a sum for the purchase of bottled water.
That means we have four options for the residents of Sept-Îles. I am told the resident have chosen options. I think the matter will be resolved.

Mr. Speaker, to the contrary, my officials have been working with affected residents in Sept-Îles to come up with an acceptable solution. In the meantime we have been providing bottled water to those residents. That is not an acceptable long term solution, but there are other remedies that are being tested and some of the residents have taken us up on those remedies.
The number of people affected is very small but they are very important obviously in terms of their numbers. It is a priority for us to determine a fair solution.

Mr. Speaker, the Canadian government's position is clear: we support extending highway 30.
We are prepared to work with our friends from the Quebec government to reduce traffic congestion on the island of Montreal.

Mr. Speaker, let me first congratulate the hon. member on his appointment as transport critic for the Bloc Quebecois.
Unfortunately, the hon. member is making a big mistake. In my letter to Mr. Chevrette, I wrote that the federal government would be reviewing the issue of highway 30 on a priority basis.
That is the position of the Canadian government. We are in favour of extending highway 30 to reduce traffic congestion in the Montreal area.

Mr. Speaker, I would like to tell the hon. member that the devolution of Canada's airports was one of the most successful programs initiated by the government.
It is a program that has improved quality, has put management into the hands of local entrepreneurs, has responded to the needs of local communities and has given the kind of investment that the public sector would have had to pay for but is now being paid for by users.
The regime that has been put into effect is an accountable one and one that has had uniform application across the country. It has been tough in negotiating some of these deals because airports have not liked the fact that we have to be consistent. This has been consistent.

Mr. Speaker, the Government of Canada has entered into an agreement with the society that is now in charge of that particular port. As such, we assume that the society is living by the agreement as made. If the audit shows to the contrary then obviously we will take remedial action. However, we will wait for the audit report which should come very quickly.

Mr. Speaker, I thank the hon. member for bringing this to the attention of the House some weeks ago. As a result of his representations, we moved up the audit by Transport Canada on this particular wharf. It would be very premature to start making any further moves in the absence of the audit which will be completed very soon.
