Mr. Speaker, the question remains this. Is the Government of Canada part of the negotiations, the plea negotiations? No, the Government of Canada is not part of the plea negotiations, and I am very happy to see that my hon. colleague, after spending this question period repeating that, has finally agreed with me that that is the case. We were not part of it.

Mr. Speaker, once again, the Government of Canada was not part of the plea negotiations. The chief prosecutor of the tribunal reiterated this on numerous occasions. I will not go back into this response. We are not and were not part of the plea negotiations.

Mr. Speaker, our friend and closest ally, the American government, agreed that Omar Khadr return to Canada. We will implement the agreement between Mr. Khadr and the U.S. government.

Mr. Speaker, I repeat that the government did not participate in the negotiations on the sentence, and the prosecutor made that very clear. The American government agreed to allow Omar Khadr to return to Canada. We will do everything we can to ensure that the agreement reached between the American government and Omar Khadr is carried out.

That of course, Mr. Speaker, is a false premise. The Government of Canada was not part of the plea negotiations. In fact, the chief prosecutor of the tribunal, Navy Captain John Murphy, when asked about whether Canada was part of this deal, said the agreement was between the U.S. government and the defence.

On the contrary, Mr. Speaker, the Government of Canada did not participate in the negotiations concerning the sentence. In fact, when asked, the tribunal's chief prosecutor, Navy Captain John Murphy, said that Canada was not part of the agreement and that the agreement was between the Government of the United States and Khadr's defence team.

Mr. Speaker, I heard some statements in this House that do not warrant an answer to these questions. It is regrettable that my honourable colleague decided to sink so low as to mention the death of Mr. Beauregard.

Mr. Speaker, the statistics, the facts and the numbers all show that Canada has outperformed the rest of the G7. Of course the Bloc Québécois does not want to point this out, because it does not support our government. At every opportunity, it always votes against budgets that will help stimulate Canada's economy.

Mr. Speaker, this year has been exceptional. The Prime Minister committed to meeting with his colleagues at the G8, which he chaired. He travelled to China. There was also the G20. The government has taken some specific action, which is now producing results. The latest statistics on our gross domestic product prove this. Some 420,000 jobs have been created in the last 11 months. Now those are real results.
