Mr. Speaker, I guess that member has forgotten all about the in-out that he stood behind.

The government cannot humorously repeat that it is co-operating with Elections Canada. The member for Labrador is a cheater. He tried to fix—

Mr. Speaker, this is more Conservative disregard for election laws. The plot thickens around the member for Labrador: overspending, corporate donations, fraudulent invoicing and illegal loans. The minister overspent by $20,000. This guy lost by less than 80 votes. He bought the election.

Election spending is the responsibility of the candidate. Now that he has gotten rid of the official agent and given him a posh patronage job, he should fire him from the C-NLOPB as well.

I ask, will the member take responsibility for his own actions and resign?

[Employment Insurance, October 2nd, 2012]

Mr. Speaker, the EI minister will remember Irene. Irene had to chase the minister into the bathroom when she would not meet with the plant workers when she toured the fish plant in Witless Bay. The minister told Irene she needed to educate herself on the changes to EI and get the details.

Irene and many fish plant workers have educated themselves on these changes and they are worse off. Irene is at work today as we speak. The fish processing season is coming to an end and she is only going to get two days' work. She is not going to get the three or four days that the minister thinks she can get.

Will the EI minister accept that she is wrong, acknowledge that the fish plant workers are worse off and fix the program?

Mr. Speaker, it is so important to have openness and transparency in the electoral process. Not allowing someone to get a loan from a family member would probably prevent that person from getting involved in politics.

The member is a former bank executive. Banks do not normally give loans to political parties or political individuals. It is very difficult to get a loan from a financial institution for political purposes. Maybe the member could shed some light on that.

Mr. Speaker, Nathan Jacobson is a businessman with close ties to the Conservatives. He was convicted for his role in organized crime operations in the U.S. in 2008. Since then, he has been a big donor to the Conservatives and even appeared as a special guest of the Prime Minister during a visit of the prime minister of Israel.

Has the government made the Conservative Party return the $10,000 in donations that it received from him and will it ask the NDP to do the same? Does any member have the courage to defend this, or will this just be the parliamentary secretary, whose credibility was so discredited in the in and out affair?

[Hockey Summit Series Anniversary, September 28th, 2012]

Mr. Speaker, 40 years ago this afternoon, city streets across our country were empty as hockey fans flocked to their nearest television to watch the last game of the '72 Canada Soviet series.

It had been a brutal, gruelling seven games. Senator Frank Mahovlich had already done Canada proud with a goal and a pair of assists. Spectacular saves by Ken Dryden in game 8 kept Canada close, but still trailing by two. Then it happened. Paul Henderson, who had scored the winner in game 6 and then again in game 7, was itching to go. With less than a minute left in game 8 he stepped onto the ice and into the history and heart of a nation.

If members know this part they can say it with me, “Here's a shot. Henderson made a wild stab for it and fell. Here's another shot! Right in front. They score! Henderson has scored for Canada!”

With regard to the ongoing discussions and negotiations concerning the Canada-EU Trade Agreement and the issue of tariffs on Canadian fish and seafood products: (a) what is the specific proposal put forward by the government concerning any changes to these specific tariffs; and (b) how is the provincial government of Newfoundland and Labrador represented with the federal government at negotiations concerning the Canada-EU Trade Agreement, including (i) how many representatives are involved from the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, (ii) in what capacity do they function during the negotiation process?

With regard to the government’s ongoing plan to reduce the size of the federal public service and specifically the job cuts in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador: for each government department and agency, how many jobs have been eliminated or are planned to be eliminated from the beginning of fiscal year 2012-13 to the end of fiscal year 2014-15 including, (i) the title of the position, (ii) the town/city in which the position is located, (iii) the current wage/salary range for the position?
